About SNOW

SNOW provides a variety of online courses and chats for special educators, educational assistants, technologists, parents, people with disabilities and others interested in inclusive education and accessible technologies.

SNOW Chat & Learn is our e-Learning web portal. Our courses, worskhops, and live text chat series are offered for personal enrichment. A few of the courses are fee-based. Some of these are moderated and others are set up for independent study.

Moderated courses, worskhops, and live text chat series are taught by an instructor who is available each week through comments section and/or live text chats where they can provide guidance to students and respond to various online questions.

The unmoderated courses, workshops, and Chat & Learn modules provide discussion forums and live text chat areas so that participants may share ideas and observations.

No academic credit is provided for taking these courses. Students who participate in the moderated course offerings may receive a certificate of participation if they participate in the weekly online discussion activities.

The courses provide weekly topics, readings (either on the site itself or by a link to other sites), relevant resources, and a discussion forum where students post comments and questions related to the course contents. Some courses offer the opportunity to participate in live group text chats.

We make every effort to assure that our contents are fully accessible. When we use video or audio files, they will always be captioned (and described if needed.)

Chat & Learn, www.inclusiveworkshop.ca, and SNOW are part of the Education Service of The Inclusive Design Research Centre (IDRC), part of OCAD University.
