Learn about the work that Jack Pearpoint, Gary Bunch and Lynda Kahn Inclusion Press and Inclusion Network are doing.
Why inclusion? Inclusion is about ALL of us. It is about living full lives and about learning to live together, making the world our classroom for a full life, treasuring diversity and building community. Inclusion is about our 'abilities' - our gifts and how to share them. Inclusion is NOT just a 'disability' issue. Browse through the readings, links, and watch a video. Most of all, share your stories and your ideas.

We will also explore the Universal Design for Learning (UDL) approach.
Mental Health Issues in the Classroom is an independent, unmoderated workshop that provides an overview of the state of children's mental health in Canada, and covers a broad range of mental health problems that may manifest in school-aged children and youth.
The workshop has no real start and end times: you can start at any time. How you pace yourself is up to you.
The Workshop is built around a series of captioned videos taken from a workshop that Glenn DiPasquale conducted with a group of teachers. If you want to watch the videos, a fast internet connection is needed. If you don't have a fast internet connection, audio files and transcripts are available as well.
At the end of each topic covered in the workshop, participants are asked to contemplate scenarios and discussion questions. You can post comments on each topic that is covered, and share your thoughts and observations with others who may be taking the workshop at the same time as you. The Live Chat Space lets you hold live discussions with others who are working with the workshop's materials.
What is Universal Design for Learning, or UDL? We start with David Rose's Podcast - An Introduction to Universal Design for Learning, and provide links to various references and an online book, Teaching Every Child in the Digital Age.
It is imperative parents share self-advocacy tools with their children.
These tools will not only make children more independent, they will make them more aware of their needs, their goals, their abilities and give them a greater sense of self.
For users of AT, these two fundamental problems remain constant: 1) the high cost of the technologies and 2) the lack of appropriate training and technical support.
In fact, it is not uncommon for AT users to pay many times the original price of a device designed for average users, just to acquire AT that makes such device only partially accessible. Are there community-based alternatives.
